Due to several requests made during our fall fundraiser, we are considering re-broadcasting Fresh Air (currently heard at 12 noon) at 7:00 pm. Until last February, Fresh Air had aired at 7:00, and many listeners found that a better time to hear the program.
The WETS-FM homepage has a poll; you can vote on whether you’d like to hear Fresh Air or All Things Considered during that hour. The 7 pm airing would be a re-broadcast of the show heard at 12 noon.
One listener writes, “Why not add a repeat of Fresh Air at 8 p.m. and push the BBC news back to 9 p.m.?” The answer is that we have other plans for the 8 pm hour. Fresh Air is a five-day-per-week commitment, and we have some local programming that we are developing for use on weeknights at 8 pm. After 8 or 9 pm, radio listenership drops off considerably, and we want both Fresh Air and our future local programs to have as wide an audience as possible.
Thanks again to everyone who made a pledge during our recent fundraising campaign. Your support makes public radio possible. If you have not yet made a pledge or contribution to WETS-FM, you can do so here.
